Merwin House - Located in one of the most
picturesque spots in
Massachusetts, the impressive
brick Merwin House was built
about 1825. It was purchased in
1875 by William and Elizabeth
Doane.
Mission House - John Sergeant, first missionary to the Stockbridge
Indians, built this simple frame house for his bride,
Abigail, in 1739. According to legend, its striking
Connecticut doorway was brought to Stockbridge by
ox-team over a wilderness trail.
