October Mountain State Forest - October Mountain State Forest is the largest State
Forest in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Land which is
a part of this facility extends into four towns: the largest amount
in the town of Washington, Becket, Lee and Lenox. Access to
this facility can be gained through each of the towns mentioned.
Onota Lake - Then he remembered, the Mohican’s tale of the deer of spotless
white who came with the opening of the cherry blossoms to
drink at Onota. At this gentle creature no arrow was ever
pointed, for she brought good fortune.
Otis State Forest - The Old Boston to Albany Road (Knox Trail) goes through this
forest. Nearby the Otis Ski Area is very popular.
