D.A.R. State Forest - Goshen - During the summer D.A.R. offers a popular beach for swimming
on Upper Highland Lake, and a shady picnic area. A group
picnic pavilion can be reserved in advance. The campground
offers 50 campsites, modern comfort stations, and aprivate
beach. Wheelchair- accessible campsites are available and
may be reserved in advance.
Department of Environmental Management - DEM is the largest landholder in Massachusetts, managing over 285,000
acres or five percent of the state, and it helps maintain three million more
acres of public and private forests. DEM's landholdings range from Mt.
Greylock, the state's highest peak, to the beaches of Cape Cod. In
between lie vast tracts of forests, lakes, and ponds where swimming,
fishing, hiking, sightseeing, and picnicking are popular.

Downhill Skiing -
If you've visited the Berkshires in the winter, you
