NEIL YOUNG with CRAZY HORSE

Broken Arrow (Reprise)

This is not so much a great, new Neil Young album as it's a great, old Neil Young album, one of those solid efforts with vintage, eight- and nine-minute epics with lots of fuzzy, crunchy guitars on songs that never seem to go anywhere but just drift along until the band gets tired. There's also some country-ish two-steps, a solo acoustic tune and a blues. Young's latest is bound to please his diehard fans, but newcomers to Young -- if there are still any out there -- will want to begin their acquaintance elsewhere.
