Mr. Rogovoy;
For me, this is the time of year when I miss the Berkshire's the most. I
grew-up in New Lenox, and Dalton in the 50's, 60's, and early 70's, and now live in
southeast Alabama, so not seeing local Berkshire talent at some of the venues offered, under summer, skinny-dipping, nights is something I miss, but always remember. But that's not the reason I'm writing.
I realize your sources of finding artists, dates, venues, etc., is probably
more vast than mine, but I thought I'd pass one along to you, just in case...
The following is the website for The National Online Music Alliance (NOMA):
www.songs.com. If you access it be sure to get the latest "Festival
Bulletin" from Maryl Neff at: , the editor. It has a
state-by-state listing of Music/Folk Festivals.
I located this site via the back of some "re-cast onto CD" albums from a
group I could never find in those catalogs in the various record shops. Now I own every album that was put out by The Goose Creek Symphony, and they're touring this year ! Albeit, somewhat locally, in the Tennesee area.
In my travels, 21 years in the US Army, I realize, too, that there's so
much talent out there that goes unrealized.
One album, by an Austin, TX artist, that you might enjoy is called, Jackalopes,
Moons & Angels ( A Collection: 1985 - 1990) by Kimmie Rhodes. It can only
be purchased thru their own (her & her husband) label's website at:

After reading about all the PCB controversy around Pittsfield, and
listening to the song, "I Just Drove By", it brings back alot of memories
of my Berkshire up-bringing.
