The Great Barrington Pottery|
POTTERY FIRED IN A JAPANESE WOODBURNING KILN has a unique Oriental look; glazes respond to the intense, variable heat with tones of a rare natural quality.
The 7,000 brick kiln at the Great Barrington Pottery, built brick by brick by Richard Bennett and his Japanese master, was the first authentic Japanese woodburning kiln built in the United States. Complete in traditional detail, it even houses a Shinto kiln god who receives on offering salt, sake and rice to insure the success of each firing.
Month long workshops and 2 year apprentice programs are available all year long. Please call or write for details.
