For the month of December, also the first month of winter, I thought long and hard about where a person might want to save a buck. I finally hit on a thought. Being the beginning of winter as well as the month that our pocketbooks take a huge beating on Holiday shopping, what could be better than a place to buy sporting goods and accessories at reasonable prices.

The place where this can be accomplished is Instant Replay. Instant Replay is a unique consignment store stocked to the hilt with virtually any kind of used sporting equipment, sports apparel and new accessories at discounted prices. All of the clothing and equipment is in excellent shape and very reasonably priced.

Now don’t go looking for Instant Replay at it’s old location on 221 North Street in Pittsfield. They have moved the store to 503 East Street which is in the St. Luke’s Plaza right next to the Misty Moonlight Diner. In my opinion this has been a good move because they have plenty of parking and it is still very conveniently located.

In their clothing department they have all kinds of winter wear that could be used in sports or could be used just to keep warm this winter. They have running, biking, and skiing outerwear. They have sweaters, jackets, boots, hats, gloves and scarves as well.

Their sports gear consists of assorted helmets from all different sports, baseball gloves, tennis racquets, ice skates,(hockey and figure), snow shoes, skis,(both kids and adult), ski boots,(kids and adult), cross country skis,(kids too), and cross country and down hill boots,(ditto). The ice skates range in price from about $15.00 to $70.00 for hockey skates and about $5.00 to $50.00 for figure skates. I saw some quality brand names. Skis ran in the range of $20.00 to $150.00 a pair and ski boots, both cross country and down hill from $10.00 to $150.00.

I also saw motor cycle helmets, roller blades and golf equipment. They had a whole section of exercise equipment that Michele says goes quickly. There were treadmills, a step machine, weight machines, a health rider and exercise bikes.

I particularly eyed the camping equipment as I found when I went camping last year that I needed a new tent at the last minute, as well as being caught without a few items I could have used had I been able to afford them.

For Holiday shopping you might check into their sports related games such as a ping pong table, or a miniature pool table for kids. Any of the above items mentioned would be a wonderful gift to receive at the holidays and I urge you to at least check out their prices and quality before you go spending a fortune for something brand new.

Of course merchandise varies according to how it comes in. Michele says that is goes quickly so if you see something you like you should leave a deposit or make arrangements for a short term lay-away.
