The Berkshire Bargain Babe

To add a little spice to our classified section I thought that I might share a little something with you - something that comes so naturally (ask any of my friends). I have been known as the bargain babe for many years. Living on a small budget and having an aversion to malls, I found an alternative route to getting the things I need to make my house a cozy place. Also, being the head of a household and in charge of clothing the kids, etc., I have become aware of thrift stores, Goodwill, Salvation Army and last, but not least, yard sales.

We as a consumer society have so much to chose from in the world of "brand new, that we have created a very nice "disposal society. It was truly said that "one man's trash is another man's treasure. This is the philosophy by which I shop.

Every month I will share with you some of the places I have found to be consistent in a good bargain. The stores that appeal to me are the ones with variety. Not all are varied and some offer only clothing, where others offer furniture. Also, these stores range in prices according to the brand names, quality and location.
