On Saturdays and Sundays through the end of October the museum's tourist excursion trains leave Lenox at 10 am and 2:15 pm for a 1-3/4 hour round trip to Stockbridge or 12:15pm departure for a 45 minute round trip to Lee. The caboose is added to the trips on Saturdays only.

An installation, Works on Paper: A Selection of Recent Gifts, presents a selection of a dozen works on paper given to the Clark in 2005 and 2006 and spans the 16th to the 20th centuries. Admission.

More Than Yodeling and Chocolate: A Brief History of Swiss Painting
Famous for yodeling, chocolate, watches, and cheese, Switzerland has, over the centuries, also produced and been the home to many great artists. In connection with the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute's exhibition Alpine Views: Alexandre Calame and the Swiss Landscape opening October 8, Michael Cassin, curator of education at the Clark will present "More Than Yodeling and Chocolate: A Brief History of Swiss Painting" on Sunday, October 22 at 2 pm. The lecture is free and part of the "Mighty Mountains and Verdant Valleys" series.

Leahy
Leahy is the Canadian powerhouse of eight musical brothers and sisters who continue to delight and mystify audiences. A whirlwind triple-threat of fiddle-driven music, dance, and vocals augmented by keyboards and percussion, the band combines the influence of their Irish and Scottish roots with their inherent desire to range freely over musical boundaries. Their first CD, Leahy, went Platinum in Canada, reached Number 4 on the Billboard World Music Charts and garnered three Junos. Sumptuous delights featuring Tolberone chocolate, prepared by local celebrity chefs, will make the "Chocolate Challenge" at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute a mouthwatering cocoa extravaganza. Two winning entries will be chosen on Sunday, October 29 between 4:30 to 5:30 pm. A public taste test will determine one of the two winners and local food critics and editors will select the other winner of the chocolate cook-off. The contest is one of several events held in conjunction with the current special exhibition, Alpine Views: Alexandre Calame and the Swiss Landscape which is sponsored by Tolberone. Admission to the "Chocolate Challenge" is free and space is limited.

The Last House on the Left: Director Wes Craven's debut is a devastating entry in the slasher genre. Released on the heals of Vietnam this vision is vicious and really terrifying nothing compared to today's sanitized remakes.
