Tourist Trains
On Saturdays and Sundays through the end of October the museum's tourist excursion trains leave Lenox at 10 am and 2:15 pm for a 1-3/4 hour round trip to Stockbridge or 12:15pm departure for a 45 minute round trip to Lee. The caboose is added to the trips on Saturdays only.

Enriching Our Lives: The Art and Innovation of the Hunt Family
Drawing works from the Hunt family archive of the Bennington Museum and loans from other institutions, this exhibition will explore the impact the Hunt family had on the state of Vermont and the art world at large. On view will be seldom-seen paintings by William Morris Hunt displayed with works by his brother Richard Morris Hunt, sister, mother, and nephew. In the Bennington Museum's Changing Exhibition Gallery.

Little Women, Little Men: Folk Art Portraits of Children from the Fenimore Art Museum
This exhibition is part of "American Traditions," a collaboration of leading Berkshire County, Massachusetts, cultural institutions, and features a dozen paintings of children by American itinerant portrait artists, including Ammi Phillips, Erastus Salisbury Field, Joseph Whiting Stock, and William Matthew Prior, that were originally acquired by Stephen Clark, brother of Clark founder Sterling Clark. This exhibition was organized in conjunction with the Fenimore Art Museum of Cooperstown, New York.

Jane Stickle Quilt on view
The Stickle quilt, made during the Civil War, has appeared in numerous quilting books and is the topic of Dear Jane, The Two Hundred Twenty-Five Patterns from the 1863 Jane A. Stickle Quilt by Brenda Papadakis. This large and spectacular quilt contains 169 five-inch blocks, each differing in pattern, containing a total of 5,602 pieces surrounded by an unusual pieced and scalloped border. In the Rotating Textile Study area of the Flag Gallery.

Hail to the Chiefs
The Clark's portrait of George Washington by Gilbert Stuart will be joined by two other presidential portraits by the artist (Thomas Jefferson and James Madison), on loan from Bowdoin College. Head for the Stockbridge Train Station on Sunday, October 9th for the Antique Fire Apparatus Show featuring equipment representing two centuries. The event is sponsored by the Berkshire Chapter of the Society for Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in America, Antique Fire Apparatus Club of America and in cooperation with Jack Fitzpatick's Train Station. The Station is located on Depot Street, off Route 7 South in Stockbridge. This event is free of charge to the public and promises to be fun for the whole family. Monster Mash
The Berkshire Museum hosts Monster Mash, an afternoon of Halloween fun. It starts with free pumpkin painting and face painting from 2-4 p.m. on the museum lawn. Also from 2-4 p.m., participating downtown merchants will be holding Trick or Treat: look for the orange pumpkin on their front door.

At 4pm there'll be a screening of Frankenstein: the 1931 Boris Karloff Version, with live music accompaniment by Michael Shapiro, film composer and pianist. Admission to the movie is $1 for children, $5 for adults.
