Performance: Honest Abe
Norman Rockwell's admiration for Abraham Lincoln is evident in illustrations created throughout his career. On this anniversary of our 16th President's birth, join in the celebration! Museum educators from the Norman Rockwell Museum and Chesterwood will discuss the ties that Rockwell and sculptor Daniel Chester French had to a President whose legacy continues to be felt today.
Then, meet Abraham
Lincoln as portrayed by Phillip Jessen, who brings depth and dimension
to this well-known public figure through the art of first-person interpretation.
Mr. Jessen has been portraying Abraham Lincoln since the morning of
his 46th birthday, when he awoke to find that he had been inexplicably
transmogrified into a semblance of our Sixteenth President. A member
of the Association of Lincoln Presenters (ALP), this outstanding actor
delights in bringing Lincoln to life for audiences of all ages. Non-members
