National Pastime Corporation, owner of the Pittsfield Mets Class A
Professional Baseball Club, of the New York-Penn League, announced on
Monday May 8, 2000, at a press conference with New York State Senate
Majority Leader Joe Bruno and Hudson Valley Community College
President John L. Buono the proposed relocation of the franchise to the
grounds of Hudson Valley Community College in Rensselaer County, New
York. A new 4,500 seat stadium will be built on the campus site and be
the home of the Major League affiliate which will replace the affiliation
with the New York Mets.
