The Pittsfield Cultural Council is a city agency which administers the funds allocated by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
Pittsfield Cultural Council members are appointed by the mayor and charged with fostering and furthering cultural initiatives in the City of
Pittsfield and its environs. Each year, council members review scores of grant applications and regrant the funds allocated by the MCC to the
"local cultural council". PCC grant monies have supported hundreds of projects and institutions as a result of the combined efforts of its many
dedicated volunteers over the years. The PCC web site is an extension of this mission and is dedicated to elucidating and facilitating the cultural
initiatives of its grantees and prospective applicants, respectively.
