Vast and varied collections
of art, history and natural science characterize this museum, with 18
galleries of art, an interactive aquarium, a giftshop and exhibits
featuring both local flora and fauna, as well as more exotic examples,
like coral reefs. Founded in 1903 by noted philanthropist Zenas Crane
(of the Dalton, MA. paper making family), the Berkshire Museum
offers tours, lectures, classes, special exhibits and demonstrations.
Movie lovers will enjoy the cozy 300-seat Little Cinema, showing
American and foreign movies, offbeat, current independent films, and
classics.
