Designed to entertain, but also to sharpen interest and knowledge of classical and chamber music to the general public. This is accomplished by bringing unique programs of musical enrichment with strings, winds and brass, played by world renowned musicians, into schools, hospitals, prisons and senior centers. The theory is that chamber music can have important implications to the conduct of everyone's life, but, in addition to more traditional concert settings in Lenox, MA, and various Connecticut locations, that this music needs to be taken out of a performance hall context and directly into the lives of people who might not otherwise be given the chance to enjoy it. The Armstrong Chamber Concerts season runs traditionally from October through June.
