Sometimes, the groomsmen can double as ushers. Pick a head usher, someone who knows both of the families well enough to seat them in the proper place. If one of your attendants drops out of the wedding for any reason, you have a couple of choices. You can ask someone else to step in or you can leave it that way and not worry about having even pairs. The other people making up the wedding party may be a ring bearer, readers or program attendants. Choosing these members will be up to you and your bride. Formal wear is the most popular attire for the groom and his attendants. A great look for a less formal wedding is a suit and tie. It is best to tie the whole wedding party together by wearing the same clothing. Daytime wedding attire for men depends on the style of the wedding. A very formal day wedding would find the groom dressed in a cutaway coat with gray stripped trousers or a gray waistcoat. A wing collared shirt, ascot or striped tie. Top hats and canes are optional. Contoured long or short jackets and wing collared shirts are the comptemporary look. For a formal day wedding the attire would be gray stroller, waistcoat with striped trousers, shirt and striped tie. A tuxedo suit with bow tie and vest is also considered proper. Semi formal weddings see the groom in his favorite suit with colored or striped shirt, and his favorite tie. The attendants should match the groom. A dinner jacket is also suitable. This attire is also acceptable for informal weddings. Many informal weddings are now seeing the groom and his attendants in navy blazers and kakhi pants with white shirts. Evening wedding attire for a very formal wedding consists of, full dress tailcoat with matching trousers, wing collared shirt. Of course the top hat and cane are again optional. For a formal evening wedding a dark dinner jacket with matching trousers, dress shirt and bow tie are acceptable The comptemporary look would be the same as the formal daytime. Semi formal and informal evening wear would be a favorite suit or dinner jacket with dress shirt and tie. Formal and semi formal weddings take place in the daytime or in the evening.
